Junk Car Removal
Finding a service or person for a junk car removal is not all that difficult as the owner of the junk car can use several options. One of the options I know a couple of my friends have used is to contact a local junk removal company who will come and remove the junker for a small fee. Sometimes they will do so at no cost to the owner as they intend to haul the car to the scrap yard for the money they will get.
Another option is to donate the old car to a charity. This is my preferred choice. The charity will do the junk car removal for free, you will feel good about helping out a good charitable cause, and this donation can be used as a tax write-off in most instances. Before contacting anyone for the removal of the old car make sure you still have the title to the vehicle. If not, then pay a visit to your state's department of motor vehicles and request a new title. This can be handled right there for a nominal fee. Don't forget to take the VIN number of the old car. This is the vehicle identification number, usually located at the base of the windshield on the dash.
You can avoid the pain and expense of going through your local state DMV for a new title by locating a junk car removal service that will accept a bill of sale. This is one way to get rid of the old car but can also be a pain if all the paperwork is not legally done. Use this one as a last resort.
Another option to consider is contacting the local high school, or technical college, to see if they might be interested in the car. Many schools have shop and auto classes where they teach basic mechanics to students. Donating junk cars to take apart, practice bodywork, and tear down the motors is a good way to see the old car used for helping out others. There might even be a few of the students who want to take the basics of the car and do a rebuild.
Contacting a local salvage yard, or scrap yard, to come and remove the worn out junker is another option for those who do not have a way of transporting the car themselves. Most junk yards and metal salvage companies will pick the old car up for little to no cost to the owner as they will make thier money in the scrap value of the vehicle.
One other possibility to look into for junk car removal is contacting one of the national old car removal services. This might be the owners best bet as these companies will come to the location of the old car, load it up, and off she goes without any problems. The owner will normally not even need to have a title for the car for using one of these services and you do not even need to get your hands dirty. Pretty nice!
